Getting a degree is one of the essential parts of life. Not only does it determine your future but also where you have headed in life. But that does not mean you must tailor your interests precisely to your chosen degree. You should continue living despite what is written on that degree.
That being said, due to the immense customization options Sims 4 gives us, we will be looking at anything and everything about Sims 4 university degrees in this article. We will review various distinguished degrees, regular ones, honours degrees, and many more since getting a degree is the first step to independence.
Sims 4 university degrees
This article is a 9000 ft. overview of the broad university majors and degree topic. Due to the sheer amount of selection options the game gives us, it can be challenging to put your sim into a specific place. That is why we will list various degrees into various categories to make them simpler and easier to understand.
Firstly we will understand how you can apply to a university and the procedure that takes place with it. Then we will be looking at the distinguished degrees, and their skill requirements, and the cheats used to fast forward this progress.
How to apply to university in sims 4
Firstly, to apply to the university, you need to go to your computer and click on the university option. Then click on apply to universities. You do not need to worry about applying to both universities since you both will consider your application.
You will get a reply to your applications within one or two days. The acceptance letter will depend upon which skill set and level you have. We will look at both of these in a later phase of this article.
The letter will also tell you which university you have been accepted into. Your application status can also be checked on the computer.
After receiving the acceptance letter, you can sign up through your mailbox, phone, or computer.
Scholarship Options
Before we look at the distinguished degrees, let us see how to get into university using a scholarship. There are three types of scholarships available. The first is based on where your Sims live, the second on how much money the family has, and the third is based on scout participation. However, the best option is to still go for the skill-based degrees that we will discuss in the later section.
There is an option to apply for every scholarship you see, so selecting one for your sim won’t be a problem. Let us look at the list of scholarships you can apply to. Also, a side note is that these are the eligibility criteria, which does not necessarily mean you will get selected.
1. Location Based
Living in any world is fine, from forgotten hollow or willow creek. Many players have tried to improve their odds, but nothing works, it’s a game of luck.
2. Education for all (Needs Based)
If you have less than 25k in property value and less than $2500 in hand.
3. Helping Hands (Needs Based)
If you have 10 -15,000 in hand cash and a property value between 80 and 100,000.
4. Merit Based
The sims who have already applied for a degree can go for this one, you need one more degree for a Full Ride.
5. Super Scout
A minimum of Rank 2 in scouts is required; everything has a better chance beyond that.
6. Workplace Scholar
If you are a rank 3 in any career, or working a part-time job as a teen, you can apply for this scholarship.
Next is the skill-based scholarship list.
1. Alley Cat
This one is a bowling-based skill and unlocks at level 2. The skill improves and gives you a higher chance of getting a scholarship at level 3 and then level 5. Your odds of getting in would be at 90 percent at level 5, but it will not change at level 4.
2. Athletics
This is a fitness skill. It unlocks at level 3 and improves at levels 5 and 9.
3. Building the Future
The skills are handiness and rocket science. The skill unlocks at level 3, and gets stronger in levels 5 and 9.
4. E-Sports
This is a video gaming skill, same as the other skills, it unlocks at level 3 and improves at 5 and 9.
5. Food and Drink
Cooking, Gourmet Cooking, Baking, and Mixology. Unlocks at 3, improves at levels 5 and 9.
6. Future Star
The skills you will need for this scholarship are Guitar, Piano, Violin, DJ Mixing, Pipe Organ, Singing, Acting, or you should be in the Drama Club (rank 2). Like other skills, it unlocks at level 3 and improves at 5 and 9.
7. The Great Outdoors
The skills you will require for this section are Fishing, Gardening, Herbalism, and Flower Arranging. Unlocks at level 3 and gets higher odds at levels 5 and 9, , just like the others.
Now, we will look at distinguished degrees and how they vary from average degrees. We will also discuss the advantages of getting a distinguished degree instead of a regular one.
Distinguished Degrees
Note: Please know that before you apply for university for a specific degree, your sim must possess high skills in their particular careers. Otherwise, they won’t accept them in universities. We will discuss particular jobs and the skills needed for those careers later in this article. After you enroll into the university, you will need to select a degree.
Now, a distinguished degree helps a sim’s career growth better than a usual degree. How? Great degrees allow your sims to get more promotions in their career as compared to normal ones. Not only promotions but they will also get more vacation days and money compared to the other ones. But there are many things to remember about this degree too.
First, a generally higher skill set is required to get a distinguished degree. Any degree can be taken at universities included in the expansion pack, the Foxbury Institute, and the University of Britechester. Now, we are going to be taking a look at the degrees available in these distinguished sections. There are 13 in total.
