Sims 4 Tool Mod
Sims 4 Tool Mod

One of the reasons why sims 4 is such a versatile simulation is due to its ability to move objects around and combine various elements into one. Players can achieve these combinations by using multiple mods and CCs, which increases the likelihood of the components looking lifelike.

The tool mod sims 4 helps players take anything off the lot. The acronym of tool stands for Taking Objects Off Lot and that, it does really well. TwistedMexi created this mod, and today we will be looking at how you can download and use the Sims 4 tool mod and everything else you need to remember about it.

What is the tool mod Sims 4?

In simple words, this tool enables us to get more control over what we build. There is a lot of versatility for changing the positions of an object, rotating them, or shifting them over to a completely different neighborhood.

However, there are a couple of things you should keep in mind for this, firstly, you should have installed the latest version of the mod, and second, you should have cheats enabled. Both of which we will cover in the next section of this article, so do not fret!

What does the tool mod do?

The tool mod lets you select any object, no matter how big or small, and then transfer it anywhere on the map. This, however, requires you to have one other mod downloaded, which is also created by TwistedMexi. Players must install the Better BuildBuy mod prior to getting the tool mod. We will cover how to install that as well.

Let us cover how to download the things you need first; then, we will look at how you can use them in the game.

How to download the tool mod in sims 4

Firstly, we will look at how to download the Better BuildBuy mod; trust us, it makes things significantly more manageable. In addition, it is also a requirement for the tool in sims 4. Now, there have been many updates to both of those tools, so make sure you download only the latest versions. We will give you a link for that, so do not fret!

The above link will take you to TwistedMexi’s Patreon page. Scroll to the very bottom and find a zip file link. After downloading the zip file, transfer it to your mods folder in the sims 4 files. But delete the previous BuildBuy mod version if you have it installed before moving to the new one.

Note: After opening the zip folder, drag the tmex tool file to your mods folder, not anything else, and do not make any sub folders. Otherwise, it won’t work.

With this BuildBuy mod, moving things will be more accessible, and editing lights is possible just by holding shift+left click. You also do not have to restart the game after having Unorganized Debug on, which marks your lot as a CC.

Now, let us look at how you can download the tool mod in sims 4. After integrating the Better BuildBuy mod into your arsenal.

This link will take you to TwistedMexi’s Patreon page again, scroll down and click on the tool mod zip file.

Download it and extract it to your mod folder in sims 4; delete any existing tool mod files of the previous version that you might have. Once you drag the files into the folder, you are good to go!

How to use tool mod in sims 4

Coming to an essential part of the article, every downloading aspect is done. But how do you use it? It is pretty simple, and in this part, we are going to cover what you need to do to get started with this tool.

A small step before using the tool mod

You can directly use the tool mod, but to give you a smoother experience, we are going to type a couple of cheats first. First, to enable cheats, open the console, type testingcheats true and press Enter.

Now, open the console again and type bb.moveobjects and hit Enter. This will ensure a smoother moving experience for the tools you use; they won’t be limited by tiles. Also, enter the bb.showhiddenobjects cheat, which gives you access to everything hidden in the neighborhood.

All of these cheats will ensure you have a smooth and uninterrupted building experience. How? The move objects cheat the tile’s placing limit, while hidden objects let you see the whole environment. So all roadblocks are removed.

Getting back to the tool mod

Finally, let us see how to use the tool mod. You can use this tool to clone objects as well, which we will see in a later section.

Head to build mode and then click shift+T, which will let you access the tool mod menu directly, but if you want to move objects around freely, shift+click on the object. A tool menu appears when you shift-click on the object, it will look something like this.

Remember, this guide shows you how to move one object around in the quickest way possible. It will take you more time to build complicated worlds or lots with it.

After you see the T.O.O.L menu pop up, click on it and then select these options; select>Toggle Active Object from this menu. The object turns green if all the steps are followed correctly.

Now go to the place anywhere in the world where you want to place this object and click. You will see the green-colored object appear in the area you selected. Now shift-click and select>Toggle Active Object once more. That is pretty much the basics of how to use this tool; you shift, click the object you want and then follow the steps we showed you.

To move the object within the lot itself and click and hold the object and drag it anywhere you want. There are many general uses for this mod, such as freely moving objects, taking brilliant photos by setting up an area with beautiful objects, and more.

A good thing to do before trying out these mods is to save your game and then try it; you do not want to make your world awry with it, do you? Plus, this mod keeps on changing with the introduction of different expansion packs, so keep a check on TwistedMexi’s Patreon to keep yourself updated.

Cloning objects using this tool

You can also clone objects using the tool, which is relatively simple. There is only a slight step change in the moving and cloning of the objects. Follow the steps we showed you earlier, type the cheats mentioned above, and once everything is ready, press shift+T and shift-click on an object.

Select and Toggle the object you want to select and then click Shift+Alt to clone the object you have chosen. You can close it as many times as you want, and you can use it to make some fantastic layouts and world-building. Cloning can also help you cut costs.

Conclusion

That is all you need to know about the tool mod in sims 4, ladies and gentlemen. As we discussed earlier, you can use it to create customized photos by moving things to a new place, and it provides accessible world-building.

Before downloading, make sure you delete all the previous files of the same tools that you might have in your mods folder. It integrates well with the BuildBuy mod we showed you earlier and makes moving things more straightforward. Also, cloning can help you create different versions of the same object without repurchasing it.

We hope you got to know more about this tool through us; thank you, and keep swimming!
